Even on Tuesday afternoon, during perhaps the largest protest so far, media and reporters easily outnumbered demonstrators.
...
After the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals in June, the team beckoned some 1.3 million people to the city to celebrate....
While Cleveland and Akron have their share of Democratic voters, Ohio is still far from the elite coastal bastions of liberalism where politics plays like sports.

Theres nowhere to stay
Even people who are here in Cleveland on official business have had to book accommodations outside the citysome as far away as Akronthanks to Clevelands relatively limited hotel capacity. The new Hilton Cleveland Downtown, a tower that opened in May not far from the venue for the RNC, adds just 600 rooms to the citys supply. Prices for hotels downtown are running for as much as $1,000 a night (though most are charging less).
While protesters might have looked to Airbnb for alternatives, rates for those rooms skyrocketed in advance of the event, too. The market isnt perfect: Rates for Airbnb units still available now are not marked as high as they were before the start of the event. But the lack of reasonably priced advance accommodations may have kept protesters away.
...
Theres still time...
The public spaces around the Q, where the RNC is being held, are open plazas, even discounting the space closed off to demonstrations by the Secret Service. One exception is East 4th Street, a nightlife corridor where a number of news organizations have rented out restaurants to serve as pop-up news bureaus....Its a potential flashpoint: Were a skirmish to break out between liberal and conservative demonstrators, police would need to fight through crowds to reach the agitators. And 4th Street runs directly into the Q.

The liberal media has to be greatly disappointed there isn’t violence and destruction.
Yeah. Apparently, tactics:

Nice.
Just helping out the fellow travelers.
I have been greatly relieved so far. Only one more night to go. The Donald will take the stage & the nomination tonight!
I liked this snippet:
How come [Donald Trump] cant just start being a mayor of a city, instead of trying to be president? said Public Enemys Chuck D. Your resume is not legit to be president of the United States.
As opposed to BO, who never had to win a serious election before he ran? Every elective office he held before that time was won against cardboard cut-out candidates, candidates he disqualified or candidates he blackmailed into quitting before any votes were cast.
1) They saw the violent idiots at recent Trump rallies and know they are as likely as a Trump supporter to be hit by an egg or bag of rocks or worse.
2) They know they aren’t a match to the awesome (it seems to me) Cleveland police. And add to that open carry and bikers for Trump. They’d spend so much time changing panties whenever they get scared that it just isn’t worth the effort.
3) They are preparing for next week’s DNC. Exerting effort this week may cause farts to slip out. They want to keep those farts in for maximum influence at Hillary’s convention.
Cops came from around the country to keep the convention peaceful, an overwhelming police force.
Wonder if they’ll do the same for Hillary.
Tuesday night I did see a Code Pink nut in the audience, but that was it... I hope tonight goes as smoothly.
Maybe they are wising up? Go after the DNC instead? After all, they are the party of the “unarmed”.
Bikers for Trump
Maybe they’ve finally realized that acting like idiots only helps Trump.

The police know The Donald has their back, and they are putting on a great defense for him. The protestors want nothing of it....
Too bad MSM you then had none of your favorite topic to highlight and instead have to go after some “ generic speech lines” that have been used in one form or another for many political campaigns..
I attribute it to the huge perimeter around the convention site.
The “safe zone” only allows people who have a reason to be in the convention center to be able to walk through it. So protesters can’t block the entrance or congregate in one area. The bikers and open carry people are all outside the perimeter which is supposed to be about a mile wide.
I’m glad there is no violence at this convention.

I've said from the beginning that the GOPe's biggest problem with Trump is that he did not pay his party dues, get in line and wait his turn.
And, BTW, the Democrats are also using the “perimeter” idea at their convention as well ... as outlined in post 14.
The groups are so small and the police has been fast enough to control the problems.
I think the reason the hoards havent shown up is that the Hillarists/Obammunists have made sure that the travel funding was yanked for their violent thugs because theyre finally realizing the optics of whats been going is extremely detrimental in the eyes of most voters and that having violent far-leftists create thuggish chaos in Cleveland could help cement a Trump victory.
I listened to the scanner last night and the night before. Law enforcement has been VERY proactive. Thankfully.
Seems many residents are reporting suspicious activity and people.
