f Trump/Pence wins and they are as successful as we hope and Trump runs for re-election, what chance would Ted have anyway in 2020? If Trump decides not to run then the obvious replacement would be Pence. So effectively Ted’s chances at the Whitehouse is 12-16 years out.
The point is that Cruz is trying to get Hillary elected this year so that he can run against her in 2020 rather than having to wait 12-16 years if Trump wins.
