It started very strong. It was just too long.

We discussed Cruz well into the night. My son said he never expected Cruz to support Trump after the comments about his family; I said he needed to put his personal feelings aside for the good of the party.

But, we have made fun of bernie for supporting a woman he claimed was unfit for office so at least now we can make fun of him and say if he had "real" convictions he would have taken a stand like Cruz. lol

I also think that Trump allowing Cruz to go ahead and speak, knowing he wasn't going to support him, showed a great deal of strength - and leadership. He allowed someone with a different opinion to still reach out and I think he gambled on the speech going the opposite way that Cruz hoped.

Cruz should have bit the bullet and endorsed Donald Trump from the podium. I disagree with a lot of what he did when his campaign started free falling, and I disagree with this decision. If he couldn’t endorse Trump, he should have stayed home. That being said, I wish everyone would just move on as graciously as they can. This sniping is dividing us, not uniting us. Trump may not be happy, but he moved on. His supporters should, too. They need all the votes they can get to beat Hillary. Whatever happened to being gracious in victory?
