Heres the quote from Melanias speech:
From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect, they taught and showed me morals in their daily life. That is the lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to many generations to follow because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
And from Michelle Obama in 2008:
... Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say youre going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you dont know them, and even if you dont agree with them. And Barack and I set out to build lives guided by these values, and pass them on to the next generation. Because we want our children and all children in this nation to know that the only limit to the height of your achievements is the reach of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.
Judge for yourself.
Your concern over this nothing burger has been noted. You seem to have your panties all in a bunch.
Melanie’s life story and positive outlook for her beloved USA will out shadow any absurd comparisons to the Wookie.
The top one was the truth. The bottom one was a pack a lies.
Do you disagree?
Melania merely took the load of crap that Moochelle spewed in 2008 and turned it into a polished gem. Did anyone here think Moochelle wrote that load of crap in 2008? Does anyone here think that what Melania spoke last night were not the sentiments of her heart?
Simular, yes, but they both have the cliché crap that all politicians use.
Saying Michelle is the author of this nonsense would be like crediting me for saying “happy birthday Cronal”
This is such a joke! Plagiarism is when you are taking creative credit for something you publish.
Every day hundreds of toasts, roasts, funeral remarks, obituaries, wedding vows, graduation addresses, valedictory addresses, sermons, lectures, twelve step meeting ‘shares’, and yes, campaign speeches, First Lady speeches and state of the Union addresses, are offered without expectation of credit, compensation or intellectual property rights.
None of it is the slightest bit original, nor does it need to be. I’ve heard the same phrases repeated thousands of times.
This is not plagiarism. Plagiarism is when you claim to be the author of something and are being scored (academia), compensated (professional) or legally credited (intellectual property) for your originality.
A First Lady speech can’t be plagiarized, period.
