I put in a couple peach trees several years ago. Picked the proper varieties for my area (supposedly) and cross pollination. Pruned them to create an open bowl shape so the sun can get to everything. Even spent about a year with a come-along to straighten up the big one when it decided to lean.
Never had a blossom, and last fall almost all of the branches on both died off and the only growth I have this year is vertical and right up the center.
At least I can use the wood in my smoker.
BTW, when I was looking at peach trees the other day in the store, the tags mentioned you could leave them in the pot.
I tend to forget to read the height the plant gets at maturity. I bought a Crepe Myrtle (bush) several years ago. I planted it along side my other shrubs close to my front door. Today in order to see the beautiful blooms one has to look up to the roof of my house to see them. In fact most of the blooming area is atleast 6 to 10 feet past my gutters.
Used peach wood on grill a couple of weeks ago for some chicken. Mighty tasty!
