Sure he could afford what some would prefer to characterize as weakness, when instead it can be, and should be reasonableness.
The mountain of conventioneers need to discuss and form Party planks, though they may do best underselling whatever they come up with. Let it be all dog whistle, all the time? People will get sick and tired of hearing that d-g phrase aimed at mild & vague-y sounding GOP version of hope n' changey. The mountain then goes to Muhammad -- uh, in this case, I mean the guy with the most delegates going into the convention. That guy sifts through a bit of this, and of that, agreeing here and there, putting down one, or two things, setting those aside in some brief rhetorical flourish, then becomes one with the mountain. Then we win in November (I do fervently hope).
I predict a lot of people booing Trump’s acceptance speech. And a lot of people walking out. It’s all part of the plan to elect Hillary.
So funny that Those who took the pledge lied.
Yes. <<<<
So? Let there be a first-round protest vote. After that, those delegates who have voted as they were assigned from the primaries (or have revolted, and cast votes for other than Trump, if there is any of that kind of thing allowed under GOP party rules, and state and federal election laws) can be queried concerning what their concerns are.
What's the Party's platform here? Should there be any platform, at all? If there is, how should 'plank' items among GOP be worded? Is Trump good with it? If so -- then what's the beef?
After a few rounds of voting, then ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. And here's what he stands for...
Perhaps I'm not understanding how electoral Party Conventions go, or am dimly recalling how electoral convention proceedings were once portrayed to include...and am not getting that right.
Or maybe, just maybe, some of the hand-wringers around this joint (present company excluded) should sit tight in their Depends, if it turns out they insist upon crapping themselves and having irritated itchy-butt ---that drives them to projectile vomiting crankiness aimed at each and every soul who does not simply fall prostrate on the floor before the Donald.
Trump likes to be number 1, of course -- but I get the impression that at this point, he's on the look-out for the best ideas, and the best people. (Sorry Newt, there could be a place for you, but as you've said, you don't want to attend perfunctory meetings and funerals in foreign lands)...
Who's streets? OUR streets.
GOP delegates could make the rioters in the streets look bad (even worse than they are, and will be) by getting down to business and agreeing upon what is important. At risk of appearing to come across as borrowing from AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) handbook -- put principles over personalities. That principle can apply to tee-teetotalers too.
Trump is more than open to suggestions? Or am I projecting onto that man something not there?
“Anyone hear of any plans (on the part of BLM et al.) to shut down highways near Cleveland?”
Cleveland has a long and proud history of rioting; remember the idiot yelling about her free “Obama fo?” That was in Cleveland.
Why the RNC picked Cleveland is a mystery to me! It’s simply courting danger. Why not pick a mid size city, run by a Republican mayor, in a reliably Red state?
So Jeb Bush mr 3% still thinks hw can get nominated.
Please don't tell me you are you wearing Depends.
"Secret Asian Man reads a rife of danger."
After getting screwed over again and again and again by the GOP pols, some people have started to expect attempts to screw us over, whether there’s evidence or not.
Yep! Just do it!
