Zeke was at the clubhouse when I opened this morning, and we had several things to talk about, one of them being Chuck. As near as we can figure, the stroke hit sometime Friday night, so he was in his chair at least 20 hours.
Zeke was able to get some information from him, including Chuck’s son’s phone number, so the family has been duly notified. Zeke said Chuck was responsive and was able to answer questions, and that made me feel better about the situation. Apparently, it was a “mild” stroke, so the prognosis is good. He has not been feeling or looking good, over the last week, so I’m not surprised.
I’m just glad he was found in time to help him. Unfortunately, he lives alone, as do most of us, so that explains the delay. Ironically, Zeke used to have a spare key for Chuck’s place, but Chuck had the lock changed.
So now, the discussion today (if we can stand the wind) is for neighbors to have possession of spare keys. I’m going to go to Walmart and get one made for Charlie. He’s the only person I trust, here. Maybe Zeke, but...
I think that’s a good idea.
