If you had told me that you were going to tell me that you were going to be a grandpa before I went to bed, I would have waited for the announcement. But see, YOU had to wait for my reply! So THERE!
CONGRATULATIONS!! I can tell you from experience it is much more gratifying to be a grandparent than a parent. When the babes are fussy or messy, you just hand them back. In the meantime, you get to take part in all the loves and hugs.

Kid's due date is February 14th.
Well, for two of my kids being a grandparent might lose some of its grandness because it would mean they had reproduced.
But maybe their other halves (when they meet them) will make up for the deficiencies.
