Doing so would get those college kids to drinking age four times faster...
And provide them all the intellectual benefits of being French.
Dunno..
Last I checked the only things the French did well were wine and cheese.
Some argue that both of these are better made in the USA..
Not that any of you can relate..
I’ve never been a connoisseur of wine. To me, it’s just fruit juice preserved with alcohol. I can pretty much take it or leave it.
Cheese, though, is special. Humanity owes considerable thanks to the many varieties and flavors of cheeses that occasionally grace our tables. We should also be grateful to the many researchers over the centuries who contributed to the art and mastery of that craft.
The preservation of food in various ways is a fine mark of civilization, and is one of the few characteristics of humankind that makes me willing to admit my relationship to the species.
One of these days, it won't be one of those days.
Brain.
Soon to mark it I present a replay of the Queen's favorite, the Barkingham Palace Gold Cup.
My favorite came up short...
Exactly what I need these days.
I survived the night. And that, in itself, is important to me. My Big Plans for the day are to get the truck washed, and maybe put some Armor-All on the tires, bumpers and dashboard. Or not. It depends on where the shade is when I get back from the car wash. :o]
On my 50th birthday, I threw a party. Everyone had to wear black, I rented a restaurant, hired a dee-jay and had a cake with a tombstone on it to mourn the passing of my 49th year...
I figured since I would never turn 50 again, I was going to make it a great birthday. And I did! But then, I had a good job, too.
(I just scanned the pic from the party, but I don’t know how to get it from my PC to FR. *sigh*)
750, it’s something...
In Mercury years, you reach fifty when you're twelve. Maybe some butterbeer for your party.
Yes! You snagged that right out from under my nose while I was driving around trying to find a working car wash that I could afford! Good on ya, Dude!
I just sent you an email.
Hey! Just got home from picking up Boy Scouts.
Oh the joys of Scouting!
I was worn out by the time I found a working car wash. Come to find out, this one is much closer to home than the other two. And the same price, but with a benefit I hadn’t expected: if you take your car through the wash ten times, you get the 11th one free. :o]
But I won’t need to go again until September, unless the monsoons pucker up and drop some mud on it. The shade was non-existent when I got back, so the tires and stuff will have to wait until Monday morning to get all spiffed up! Not doing anything on Sunday that even resembles work.
We brought five boys home from camp. Two were retrieved by their parents at church, and Jamie is coming to get her son from our house eventually. His brother had a sports practice.
We left the Avalon at the camp for Tom the Son, who will be home sometime this evening; the staff has to clean up after the campers leave. At least I can have Pat and James’s laundry done before Tom’s arrives!
Good picture - you were stuning!
OldTax-lady said she was 50 when she took the job at USAir. She worked there less than five years, not counting when she went back as a temp after early retirement, and she’s still flying.
Thank you, ma’am. If I could figure out how, I would post it for vanity’s sake. Hahahaha!
It was a fun night, and I still have one of the invitations. I ran across it when I was looking for the stuff to send to my grandson. (And the local USPS still hasn’t addressed my question; since I mailed the letter to the Postmaster General on Monday, I will see what happens.)
I was so sorry to have to leave that job, but I just got too sick to try and keep it. It was such a GOOD job.
I’m looking forward to Naptime, if Jamie would just come get her son! Kathleen is being a pill.
