There’s one in the bathroom, but I can’t live in there. Not to mention the fact that it draws enormous amounts of power.
The peeps laugh at me because I bundle up so much. But I can’t afford to run the furnace, and wouldn’t because my lungs need a rest from Pony-Tail Pat’s cigarette smoke. It’s bad enough in the summer, but I can’t deal with it in the winter, too. My lungs have enough to deal with when the air is cold. I don’t need second-hand cigarette smoke for them to filter out.
Another reason to move to Utah...smoking has not been allowed in the complex I’m moving into for the last 10 years. YAY!
I managed to get the floors dusted and mopped, and have yet to vacuum before I turn into a pumpkin and disappear.
I’ve used up the two banker’s boxes I got, and have two boxes ready to build so I can pack the plate collection. There is also a tub waiting outside for the rest of the breakable stuff. And then another box for the larger-framed photos.
After that, I’ll give myself a break and wait a few more weeks to pack something else. I have seven tubs (only six have lids) and three more boxes and then I will have to get more of everything. I will need two more banker’s boxes, as well. Once I get to that point, the packing will begin in earnest. I will have to check with Christina to see if she can bring me some bubble wrap for the dishes.
Most likely, I can pack them and most of the cookware in January and February, as I’m not going to cook much, and I already use disposable plates (to cut down on the pain from standing to cook, wash dishes and put things away,) so I won’t miss the dishes.
At that point, I’m sure He Who Shall Not Be Named will most likely figure out I’m leaving. Oh, joy. :o|
My right leg has been giving me fits for the last three days, and I can’t seem to keep enough of that “liniment” on it to do much good.
My left foot is bugging me. It’s the one that got crunched in the auto accident seven years ago.
All the boys are home now, and Elen has gone to Waterfowl Rescue. It’s extremely windy here and going to be cold tonight.
I’m sorry about your left foot. Does it bother you much, normally, or just when the weather is going to turn bad?
I’d have some Pink Drink with you, if I were there, and we had some! Of course, the next time I visit, I’ll have to take the shuttle to McCarran and back, which will add a little bit of time to my trip — two extra hours each way.

I heard a diesel engine idling again, and thinking the worst, as we all do, here, I stepped outside to see what was up. Fire truck, with fat hoses, snaking between the two buildings next to me, and I went to investigate.
I’m thinking it was Sue, the gal who is losing her mind in a hurry, and figured she set fire to her kitchen. (It’s happened here, quite often,) but after asking several people, and seeing no less than a dozen firemen, (hubba-hubba) we find out it’s a “training exercise.” I guess they just wanted to check the status of our hearts, or something... ;o]
It only bothers me when I’m doing more exercise than usual. I’ve been going to the gym as well as walking with James. If I take a few days off it should get better. Also, I might need new shoes.
I’m glad nobody was in a crisis at your complex!
We might make it to the stars yet Bob...
This is, as they say in common VP vulgate, “a big f*ckin’ deal”...
Our current challenge lies in two directions: We need to figure out fusion, and I have confidence we will. There are a number of promising techniques that are challenging, but seem plausible.
The other direction is inward. We need to learn how to live longer. Some say we would then fill up the world too quickly, but that merely gives a better reason to seek the stars.
*boom*
Live forever, or die trying...
It may be that we will need to build our cell-repair nanobots out of biological material. This was actually the direction suggested by K. Eric Drexler in “Engines of Creation”, published in 1986.

Getchyour barking dog nanobot app TODAY!
Look! Up before the kitteh!
And the bathroom isn’t warm enough for me go in for my showern while I wait. “New Tricks” isn’t on this morning. Ungh.
I had such an ugly night, so I’m tired this morning. My neck hurts, too.
This is going to be a strange day, I think. I will be clumsy, no doubt, and distracted easily. I get really stupid when I don’t get enough sleep.
I’ve been up for a little while - just disorganized.
So am I. I’m done with the shower and will head for Walgreen’s as soon as I open the clubhouse.
I don’t want to go out in the cold, but I have to get the pills for my neck. It’s the same med they give to epileptics to stop the seizures, as they found that it allows nerves to function properly. To my knowledge, there are no side effects, but I would have to research that, and I don’t know if my attention span is long enough for that kind of exercise.
The bed keeps calling me, but I have to resist...
What a sweet little guy! Makes me want one, but my lungs say “NO!” *sigh*
How did we let yesterday go by without recognizing National Blow Your Bagpipes Day? My bad. I’ll have to mark my calendar for next year, and play the CD I got from Sionnsar one Christmas. :o]
Wish I got SyFy channel...maybe it will be offered in the options in St George. I miss that stuff.
It did not occur to me to blow bagpipes yesterday. My bad!
Me too, yesterday, not.
Or something.
It’s overcast so I have twice the lighting I normally do, and that has raised the temp in here to 74.
57, SE @ 2 mph, 21%, partly sunny. Yep. Winter. Today, I have two thermal shirts on, because I just do not want to be cold when I’m indoors!
