That’s sweet. Reminds me of when Anoreth blew out her transmission somewhere in Iowa.

That’s no fun. It’s beautiful here. I’m sitting at the church playground with Frank waiting for the rest of the Spanish choir.

I can’t recall my son ever saying that the people in AR are not friendly or helpful. I haven’t been there more than just a few days at any one time, so I can’t tell you much about it. He has lived there for 25 years, I think, and I doubt if he will stay there once he and his wife are ready to retire. They will come back to Utah, I think.

I will be there and so will her parents, as they have been in St G for some time, now. So logic tells me they will head west.

Ah. Yes. I should have known.

I stole mine from my son, also on FB!

And now, I’m going to bed and read.

See all y’all tomorrow!

Good night. We had a great time at the corn maze. There were other agricultural-themed activities, such as making friends with chickens.

They used to be called the Cleveland Spiders. The first American Indian professional baseball player played for the Cleveland Spiders.

The Spiders were a National League team that has the dubious distinction of owning the worst ever season won-lost record (20-134) in their last year of existance. Louis Sockalexis (The Deerfoot of the Diamond) played his entire major league baseball career with the Spiders.

About the only standout for the Spiders was a pitcher by the name of Cy. They have an award named after him. Corey Kluber won the AL version in 2014.

When the Spiders sank into the western sea (in a sense literally since all the talent had been shuffled off to St. Louis by the owner - who just happened to own both teams) their assets such as they were were bought by an American League (which was a minor league at the time) team the Cleveland Lake Shores. In 1091 the American League classified itself as a major league and the Lake Shores became the Cleveland Bluebirds and then in 1903 the Cleveland Napoleons. Finally in 1915 they became the Cleveland Indians which just happened to be the nickname applied to the Spiders when Sockalexis, a Penobscot Indian, played for them. Now it was the official name, not a nick name...

And Corey Kluber? He’s pitching tonight.

I think that was 1901, but maybe there was a DeLorean with a flux capacitor there.

Maybe 1091 was significant somewhere..

I read Frank and Kathleen a picture book about Mr. Sockalexis. He was an amazing all-around athlete, but unfortunately succumbed to success and died young.

"The king of Croatia died in 1091."

I'm pretty sure that William the Conqueror, winner of the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and ruler of England afterward, was not having a good year in 1091.

Had alcohol problems. And tuberculosis. Died at 42...

William the Conqueror... was not having a good year in 1091.

He hasn't been spotted much since the late 1080's.

But it is rumored that he votes Democrat.
