He was trying to replace the water supply line. It went badly.

..a little rot under the floor mat..

I had a little rot under the sink.

In one of my Electronic Rodent Eternal Rest Motels..

It's what happens when it's hot and you neglect to check for sleeping tenants daily..

The hotel unit has been exiled for cleanup of carrion odor at a future date..

Elen says that's a great name for a band.

Ours appeared to be slop from a previous meal that hadn't been cleaned up.

a great name for a band.

Probably.

But I'm wary of the projected music a thusly named band would produce.. ;-)

Usually our rodentpatrol lets us know when some critter is in the Hotel by congregating in the sink area with their snorfullating devices nasally investigating the cabinet doors. This time they failed us.

Or they were ignored..

That makes sense for anything that’s not a gravity feed. Dealing with the pressures is what teaches plumbers to swear.

Canine units are most effective at ensuring there is no slop left on the floor. They seem to see such as a gift, rather than the punishment that felines typicaly presume.

We are not presently keeping a canine guest.

Tc: Epic Fail Plumbing Service is going to do something to the upstairs hall toilet. Please pray!

TC: Epic Fail has broken the toilet. He claims it’s not his fault. I’m going to call a professional.

(what is now the perpetual image of Epic Fail Plumbing Service)

TC: LOL! I think Tom had the right idea for fixing the toilet....

but instead of removing Piece A from Piece B, he broke the connection.

The plumber should be able to shut the water off to the whole house and then replace the line from the wall out, or something.

The plumber can come tomorrow morning before 9:00, which isn’t bad for a situation where we don’t have horrible things flooding the house.(end TC quotes)

The stove that was moved by EFPS, is it electric or gas?

Has Tom lost his home internet privileges?

Coming to the thread late and picking up where I left has been....interesting. ;>)

LOL! That’s the good thing about the UT: It has lulls but the exciting parts are way over the top. Or the bottom, depending on whether you have a large Tame Ogre in Residence. ;o]

And with that, UT Fans, I’m off to the side and down.

Ta!

Highly recommend installing one of these if the piping is broken.

Shouldn't be too much more as EFPS seems to have done the prep work. Actually, every sink, tub/shower, w.c. should have these on hot and cold water supply. Stop the flood at its source immediately, instead of, "Mom! where did you put the water shut-off valve?"

The stove is gas, but we are not suffering from a gas leak at this time. He’s supposed to get the new computer we ordered for school by 8:00 p.m. tonight. I figure he’ll spend most of his time from now until school starts (Monday) setting it up.

Kathleen is showing Santana a book about Siamese cats. Santana will probably have nightmares, if dragons’ brains have that capacity.

I think apprentice plumbers have a deck of flash cards used for training....perhaps...

Good luck with rapid and reasonably prived repairs. Does the household have running water now?

Kathleen and Santana the bearded dragon can agree on one thing at least. “ Air is great!”

Yes, we have water. I didn’t let Tom turn off the supply to the house! Also, we have two other toilets, that work.

I’m fond of air myself.

I am gathering that you would not recommend that I ask Tom to assist with the Little Red Riding Thing...

(Concerning which device there is more to the continuing saga. But I don’t feel like writing about it now. Something to do with frustration levels and such, which could only be topped by finding that the replacement B&S 17.5 hp used motor that I snagged off EBay turns out to be a oily doorstop. It is presently in the hands of the FedEx peoples who report its last known location as of 2100 Tuesday was DuBois, PA.)

A year from now, when Tom has completed his diesel engine mechanics course, then you can ask.

Tom sympathizes with your engine shipping saga: his new computer, which Fed Ex said would be here before 8:00 last night, is actually in Japan.
