But how does a wall on the Texas/Mexico border work out? Which side of the river? And what about tunnels in the southwest? How far below ground can the wall reach?Yes, the Texas/Mexico border is tougher than parts west of there, but it can be done. This would be a case where about 100' of land on our side of the river should be properly purchased (where necessary) by the feds via eminent domain and the necessary structures built where possible. Obviously, there are places where it would be impractical (steep canyons with no means to ingress/egress, etc...), but those could be monitored with other means. In the southwest, most of the tunnels go from neighboring populated areas (city to city) and come up in buildings. Again, eminent domain could be used to clear wider swaths of land, and build the fence, along with seismic monitoring of the ground below the fence. It's doable, it's a matter of will, not ability.

It will be made of pre-cast concrete panels like those used by the Israelis.

Yup. One hundred years ago we built the Empire State Building in a year, and now seem to be totally clueless how to build a friggin’ concrete wall.

Are you kidding?
How much resistance do cinder blocks put up to, say, bullets?
