Americans bash them in the head with a sledge hammer, then cut their throats. Then cut them up for food.

Spanish and Mexicans put them in a ring, let them chase the Picador and Matador to get the bull meat tender, then kill them with a sword, cut them up and give the meat to the poor.

Beef in the US is not “hit in the head” with a sledge hammer. They are restrained in a chute and stunned with a captive bolt to the brain. Then they are hoisted up and throats slit to bleed them out. There are sometimes mistakes made but they are almost always unconscious. They try to keep the animals as calm as possible because stress is bad for the meat.
