If you love pets and animals and sometimes pray for them, I'm asking if you could say a little prayer for our kitty Ciel. She is only five years old, a sweet, smart Balinese. She was perfectly healthy and active until two days ago, when she started vomiting foam and stopped eating.
Today we took her in to the vet and she has acute renal failure and diabetes. He gave her IV fluids, some meds to fight nausea etc, and a little insulin. We are to give her sub q fluids and try to get her to eat. He says that she can recover completely but she needs to eat and keep food down. He gives her a 60% chance of survival because she is young and it is acute.
We love her so. She is usually riding on my son's shoulders or fetching toys for us to throw. Or annoying her older "sister" cat. It's unbearable to see her like this.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.
Oh, thanks, Lost, forgot to say that one of the meds the doc mixed for us into one liquid is that appetite enhancer. Also the anti nausea and an antibiotic.
WOW! JUST WOW! GO AWAY!
This earth, all creatures, all people, are His creation. He cares for it all. The bible teaches us that God even knows what a sparrow falls to the ground; the number of the hairs on your head.
Yes, we are more valuable; but He is aware of the grief, worry, and fear that we suffer.
You are so sweet. I couldn’t. But what a sweet gesture. Let’s pray we can flush them with the sub q.
I second his post. : )
Some people are cat haters. There’s no place for that on this thread.
And yes, absolutely. I will pray for your kitty.
I have chicken broth... But it might have onion in it...
I have like 3-1/2 cats. Well, there are three in the house and another out under the porch. That one is probably the best, least maintenance, but the ones in the house are so the most familial and aloof. Susan and I have had a few others over the years, nothing like a good kitty. Too bad there is no such thing :)
They are all beloved and cared for, I hope all kitties stay kittens and live forever. Prayers up.
You might want to get a second opinion/vet...chicken or turkey from the deli might encourage kitty to eat.
No vermin in the home that could have carried it (mice?)
I have some chicken I made last night. I should try and get some inside meat where no garlic is on it and see if that tempts her. Thanks.
I love animals, but I will agree with Wendle. You mean your opinion is the only valid one? Stay lost somewhere....
Kinder than me too!
You are mistaken. You haven’t been here for long so may say that people post on FReeRepublic on many issues and some may be important to you and some may not. If a post that you want to post on isn’t interesting to you, then don’t respond.
I’m very sorry to hear about your cat.
I have been through some very difficult times with my kitty. It’s always very stressful.
Dear God, please help Yaelle’s kitty live a long and happy life.
Payers up.
We have a Siamese ‘rescue’ that gets a dose of insulin every day...he’s thirteen, and he’s chugging along just fine.
I had a dog that got sick from getting into our cats food over. I had no idea that cat food old make my fog sick and have renal failure. By the time we diagnosed what was happening it was too late. Look at what they’ve been eating or could have gotten into. I know cats will sometimes eat things you wouldn’t imagine like plastic or styrofoam or even cactus. All of those items can make them very sick. Start looking around the house.
Exactly what we have! I am also reading scrambled egg, which we will also have to mix with water.
Thanks for putting my thoughts about WENDLE in writing.
