If you love pets and animals and sometimes pray for them, I'm asking if you could say a little prayer for our kitty Ciel. She is only five years old, a sweet, smart Balinese. She was perfectly healthy and active until two days ago, when she started vomiting foam and stopped eating.
Today we took her in to the vet and she has acute renal failure and diabetes. He gave her IV fluids, some meds to fight nausea etc, and a little insulin. We are to give her sub q fluids and try to get her to eat. He says that she can recover completely but she needs to eat and keep food down. He gives her a 60% chance of survival because she is young and it is acute.
We love her so. She is usually riding on my son's shoulders or fetching toys for us to throw. Or annoying her older "sister" cat. It's unbearable to see her like this.
Thanks in advance for your prayers.
I cant imagine what you are going through its tough I know how it is having two pups(Well actually they are my sisters dogs but they are like my babies) I cant imagine my life without them the pain its just bleeping hurts like you say. Just know that we are here with you..and yes Im glad that your son was able to go out and take his mind off of things. You take care buddy and God Bless sweet Ciel I know she is in kitty heaven playing with a big ball of yarn
You guys are doing what you can in this day and age, raising your children to be good human beings and teaching them by example to take care of creatures who cannot take care of themselves. It is a blessing to be able to do that and to choose to do so notwithstanding the pain that goes along.
Wow, so young. His renal failure the same thing as kidney failure? I’ve had about five cats have kidney disease.
Oh, and of course I will put her in my prayers tonight. And you and your family as well.
I agree, I’ve never seen the advantage of leaving any animal in the cold metal cage pretty much unsupervised. And then they charge us for that!
You probably know onions are poisonous to cats, as is garlic. She’s probably drooling because she still nauseous. Hopefully her stomach will settle in a day or two. But I would say keep doing what you’re doing, because she needs to stay hydrated. For my babies with kidney problems I bought fountains. Little tabletop fountains. They were attracted to the running water and presumably would drink out of it. I noticed that two did, always hanging around the fountain.
