Well maybe I missed the memo but I consider someone firing on unsuspecting people (police or civilian) from concealment (or in the open) to be a coward

Shooting those who you sneak upon and killing them is only a good thing in war.

Surely you are not suggesting that police are open and fair targets these days

Absolutely not. But shooting from concealment is an elementary tactic. In its most basic sense, it’s called defilade, which anyone who has ever served in the military knows about.

The guy went to war on the police,the police continued to use cop tactics and got killed.
The shooter used tactics that gave him maximum results with minimum risks.
