I had a Russian SKS made in 1950 that was very well finished the stock was cherry wood. It was a beautiful rifle and under 100 yards accurate in my hands. About 20 years ago I decided that I didn't want any commie weapons and sold my SKS, AK47, AK74, Mosins, Mackarovs, and Tokoravs. I only now have basic US weapons.

Russian SKS and AK47’s are just pretty cool firearms. Not quite the accuracy of the AR platform, but hey, at a 100-200yrds, they’z all yewz need.

Wanted something that could take a lickin and keep on tickin. Done lots of research. Rap this Ruskie machine against a tree, dunk it in muddy water, open the breach and toss in a lil dirt....still gonna empty that mag.

Rip an old T-shirt into a strip, tie a few knots along the way, dip-r in motor oil, rip that puppy down the barrel and get along bout your way.

AR....not so much.

Lost’em all in an unfortunate boating accident back in the year of our Lord 19 and 96.
