Comey is a genius

Posted on 07/06/2016 5:45:01 AM PDT by Travis T. OJustice

If Comey had recommended prosecution, they may have gone ahead and had a trial and cleared her, thereby making it impossible she could ever be tried again due to double jeopardy. As it is now, the next administration could come along and prosecute, as the statute of limitations would not have run out.

Perhaps.... or maybe Comey has the character of Pilot. With Hillary, her guilt is easy to see yet he washes his hands of holder her accountable.

With Christ, no guilt was found.... yet He was crucified.

She would have been tried in DC with a Washington jury filled with Democrats. She would never have been convicted.

Charges should never be brought unless they believe they can secure a convention.

At least this way everyone knows the she lied and if punishment is deserved.. she wont be elected.

Those who are imprisoned for lesser offenses should all appeal or demand a retrial.

While I agree with you on this point, it was not Comey’s job to decide a case based on his estimate of the probability of conviction. He is not a soothsayer who can foretell the future. In Hillary’s case, there was more than sufficient evidence to go forward with a recommendation to indict.

He cannot let the downstream process, or political considerations, dictate the outcome of his investigations. He is not the prosecutor nor is he the jury. His job is to present evidence and make recommendations to the Justice Department and let them proceed — or not — based on the evidence assembled.

Based on the Patreus case, the evidence against Hillary was simply overwhelming. She may not have been convicted but the case against her was nonetheless strong.
