Perfectly said.
Colonel West has an interesting take on this. Not sure I buy it completely, but it’s food for thought:

I didn’t say he upheld his duties, I’m saying this is the elites version of copping out. He punked out but he made a few critical comments which he thinks make up for it.
yes, and he should have been so much harsher, she got off light
He could have said (in my dream), “we have found that Hillary Clinton is such a chronic, habitual liar that every word and deed in her entire sorry life cannot be examined too closely.”
Ha ha, I know, not exactly legalese, but it would have been fun!
It was a victory of sorts for Killary but what he said will make for great campaign ads for months. It will also insure more Bernie supporters switching to Trump.
What do they expect? She did things that would have landed anyone else in prison. Was he to praise her for how she misused (to put it lightly) data? The fix was in - he knew the Just Us Department would never prosecute so the most he could do was make it clear that what Clinton did was wrong.
All the Dems who say Hillary Clinton did no wrong and is above criticism should offer to have their banking and credit card data put on an unsecure server to be hacked.
Oh pleeease! Comey basically said Hilly you’ve been a bad girl but were not gonna spank you.
Remember, Hillary was not found innocent. In fact the FBI says she is guilty. But they just aren’t going to prosecute her. Maybe they have better things to do this summer. Possibly its a busy vacation season or something. Or maybe its just bad for their jobs. But remember they said she was guilty and that others would be punished for the same thing. But she will not be punished because nobody has the will to do it.
Maybe James Comey hoped that the greatest legal travesty in memory and one that he could have prevented, will seem a bit less disgusting in the history books, since from the other side of his mouth he is screaming to the world and posterity, “SHE IS GUILTY AS HELL - I DON’T WANT TO BE ANOTHER VINCE FOSTER, American People, please, please, we all know she should be sent to jail. Both I and the Attorney General, Loretta Lynch were forced into deals we could not turn down. People who have done far, far less of this kind of thing went to jail after immediately being stripped of government security clearance and pension. Her chief of staff and assistant chief of staff, Huma also need to be indicted. How is it that the Muslim Brotherhood’s employee Huma Abedin get a job at the White House to sit next to the First Lady back in the 1990s? If Hillary becomes president, the Muslim Brotherhood continues to run America.
The fact that there’s not a Saturday Night Massacre going on today with the rank and file FBI investigators is telling. I think Comey hit the presumptive pantsuit directly amidships with a Mk 40 torpedo today.
“There were emails between Clinton and Obama in all that and that is also why no charges were made.
First black President also charged with crimes not happening IMO.”
I suspect that with the help of the foreign intelligence agencies at the disposal of her largest foreign ‘campaign donors’ she has the goods on a whole lot more than the “first black president”. Perhaps enough to light the whole swamp on fire, exposing all the Uniparty vermin as they scurry to avoid the flames.
He didn’t exonerate her.
It was completely bizarre. He didnt even try to lie, or justify himself. In fact, he went the other direction and openly contradicted himself.
....
Sounds like an NPR program.
They can do a reasonably good story and then draw the absolute opposite conclusion from what they just presented...:^)
The Comey video’s factual recitation will make a fine anti HRC campaign ad if the Trump people do it right. Here’s a great video out already, split screen with HRC lying, and Comey rebutting each point. Best I’ve seen so far on today’s events. Please spread it around if you like it. I believe either link will work.

I’m not sure they really want to go down that road. One of the options is for him to say, “you know, you’re right, I shouldn’t have editorialized without prosecuting, so on second thought I’m recommending prosecution”.
Sigh.... Democrats and gift horses.
A very interesting take indeed. You may be right. It was rather brave of you to defend Comey in this atmosphere. Kudos.
Yeah, that.
I’m not defending his recommendation, only his grasp of the facts. Based on his recommendation we can only conclude that OJ didn’t do it.
