It was a fashion face-off of epic proportions when Michelle Obama met with Queen Letizia in Madrid today.

America's first lady was joined by the glamorous royal in the Spanish capital, on what was the last leg of a trip to promote girls' education in poorer countries and raise awareness of gender inequalities.

The ever-chic Letizia, 43, stunned in a sleeveless scarlet dress from Nina Ricci that showcased her toned arms, adding a pair of pointed nude courts and turquoise earrings.

Well....Michelle is a woman in her forties whose body shape tends toward the heavier end of the BMI. It is unfair to compare her to far younger woman who is bordering on anorexic. The anorexic bag of bones will show off her dress far more photogenically than Michelle.

However....Given that I have been very critical of Michele in the past for her other fashion choices. It is unacceptable to have:

bra straps showing,
hemlines dripping below her coat,
panty lines on ill-fitting slacks,
bra bulges showing on the back of her clothing,
wearing a red cocktail dress to a postmortem medal of honor presentation,
bright light blue to a Veterans’ Day ceremony at Arlington.
too tight sweaters that wrinkle on the upper arm
hopping off Air Force One in cut off jeans.

With access to the most knowledgeable fashion consultants there is no excuse for the above.
