Thank you for your post.

I am also an independent evangelical Baptist and have run into exactly what you have. I’ve tried to make the same points to my church that you stated without much success. My congregation is also politically very ignorant and that inhibits the argument.

Yes. You know (as do I) that some of the members of any church will vote for Hillary. Elderly believe that Republicans will cut off Social Security overnight, some are just Democrats by birth and have no thought into why, but the real problem is too many people sit there and amen this and that yet have not clue as to how to live their “faith”.

My church has some of the above, has some public school teachers that are conservation until they have a choice in a vote that may raise their portion of their insurance and then will vote for the liberal to stop that, has people that works in government and wants the gravy train to continue, etc. We are considered a very conservative church yet I think in any given election 20-30% of the members probably votes liberal.
