The city Health Department encouraged employees to leave work Thursday and attend a rally condemning the Supreme Courts split decision to block President Obamas immigration plan, The Post has learned.
An e-mail sent to DOH workers informed them of the City Hall event hosted by Mayor de Blasio and urged that they participate.

That is a blatant violation of the Hatch act. Beyond any doubt.
What Activities Are Permissible?
The following is an excerpt from NYSBA/MLRC Municipal Lawyer | Fall 2006 | Vol. 20 | No. 4:
While the Hatch Act prohibits some conduct by municipal employees concerning partisan elections...it does not prohibit municipal employees from: (1) running as a candidate for public office in nonpartisan elections, that is, elections where candidates are running with no party affiliation; (2) holding elective office in political parties, clubs, and organizations; (3) campaigning for candidates for public office in partisan and nonpartisan elections; (4) contributing money to political organizations; and (5) attending and giving a speech at a political fundraiser, rally, or meeting. (italics are mine)
But as for one's supervisor "suggesting" that their employees attend a certain political event AND on company time, well that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

During “work” time?
(Also, my question assumes they do “work.”)
Does the Hatch Act specify that all of the afore mentioned are not done while any municipal employee is on the clock?
New York Marxists don’t care about the law, rules, regulations, or the anything that stands in their way to power.
Just think of them as Nazis in training.
Dayum Travis - that’s brutal! (brutally honest that is)
Absolutely. Hope somebody burns for it.
It’s almost as the rule of law is dead in the USA.
Violation? That word no longer has any meaning, at least not for the left. We are officially a lawless nation, ruled now only by power.
You state the sad truth. I worry about the children to the point of tears. Have a good weekend.
Staff who are able to attend are encouraged to do so, the e-mail read. If you cannot attend, but would like to watch the rally, it will be live-streamed.
Sigh. At all sides of this.
“Does the Hatch Act specify that all of the afore mentioned are not done while any municipal employee is on the clock?”
Does it matter? Who is going to prosecute them? Not Obama’s DOJ, that is for certain.
Have a good weekend as well, considering the atrocious recent news. The stock market is on the verge of a crash, and we have transvestites running our first line of national defense.
What’s to worry about?
Yes but we have good news. We have the death of one world nothingness. We have the life of sovereignty. We have a criminal hillary and we have the greatest American since George Washington as our new President. I don’t give a tinkers damn about the hedge fund stock Market. GO TRUMP!!
It is my opinion that Trump will be a major disappointment, if he can overcome the election fraud. But I admire your optimism.
You are Dead wrong. What you got -— Hillary?
I’m not going to argue, but it’s a pretty juvenile argument to state that “not Hillary” is going to be somehow the polar opposite just by virtue of it not being Hillary. Of course Hillary would be an unmitigated disaster of historic proportions, but the converse of Hillary is not necessarily Trump.
Sure, Trump will probably be better, but maybe not. I’m just saying that Trump will probably disappoint much more than you’re expecting. Come back in a year and touch bases with me when/if that happens.
