More than 30 people who attended an event with motivational speaker Tony Robbins have been treated for burns after Robbins encouraged them to walk on hot coals as a way of conquering their fears, Dallas fire officials said.
Five people were taken to a hospital Thursday night, while the rest were treated at the scene for burns to their feet and lower extremities, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said.
The hot coals were spread outside the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center

Every day it gets harder and harder to detect sarcasm! Seriously. Either you are very witty or these folks are really stupid.
And I’m always being told New Yorkers are dumb!
I’ll bet these idiots paid hundreds of dollars (if not thousands) to participate in this activity.
Right. But it worked. They were motivated enough. Motivated to seek medical attention.
Leave it to Texans to screw up perfect BBQ setup.
No, the trick is to wear boots............LOL!

Wow. The stupid - it burns!
In the big picture, if people can be tricked into burning their feet on hot coals, they can be tricked into voting for lying crooked Hillary.
I fear for America.
Yeah, you gotta run.
I tried this once, when I was young & drunk on the coals of a big bonfire we made at a party. I made it all the way across with no problem running... then I tripped over a piece of unburnt timber I didn’t see right at the edge of the fire pit. Luckily I fell forward away from the coals, but my left foot got stuck in the coals, just for a second, and I ended up with some nice 2nd degree burns.
Well, at least I got a good story out of it!
the trick is to have heavily calloused feet along with allowing the coals to burn till there is a heavy layer of ash on the coals. the ash insulates the foot from the coals and the callouses foot makes it so that the only flesh burning is a heavy layer of dead skin. the person performing the trick walks quickly across the coals so that by the time that the heat gets through both the ash and the callouses on the foot the person has taken a step and a different foot is on the coals.....
this is how I was told the trick was done don’t know if I was told the truth.
...found motivation AND learned certain fears are grounded in reality and practical experience.
Exactly the same thing happened in 2012 involving Tony Robbins and hot coals. You would think he would have been sued enough to stop this activity.
"Buy one get one free" didn't work out so well the last time we tried it.
Remember when Bill Clinton, President of the United States, was consulting with with scam artist in the White House?
He was a motivational coach for the Clintons.
It was bad.
We cannot let them back in.
Just another slick con, making millions off people’s low self-esteem.
I saw a kook who was standing on his head.
He flipped his lid like he should have been in bed.
I said, "what gives, man?"
He looked at me and said,
"I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby,
I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby."
Hey, Boo-boo!
And then the cat started strutting on hot coals.
He was wearing sneaks, but they were so full of holes.
He sang right out from the bottom of his soles,
"I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby,
I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby."
Hey, Boo-boo!
"Listen here, baby," the Yogi man said,
"It's all a matter of the mind.
Just commune with your innermost being,
Baby, you'll be just fine."
He was hip, all right, wasn't he?
So I tried my best to dig my inner me.
I walked on coals, my head below my knee.
Until at last I heard me say perfectly,
I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby
I'm a Yogi, I'm a Yogi, baby."
Hey, Boo-Boo!
I passed my finger through a candle flame back in the 70's. I didn't get hurt either.
