My understanding of Biblical “tohu” is as “formless substance” and “bohu” as “form without substance”. “Tohubohu” could be regarded as “something from which no sense can yet been made”, i.e. “confusion”.
Isn’t all tofu a “formless substance” that causes boohoo’s and confusion?
