It is derived from Latin obreptio (stealing or creeping upon), related to the verb obrepere (to creep or crawl up to, steal up on).
The word is uniquely applicable to the subordination of perjury as a means of achieving undeserved ends so popular in today's political circles.

I really don’t see why a few people come here off and on to bitch about the WFTD thread-if you don’t like it, don’t come to class-find something to bitch about on some other thread-the rest of us have been enjoying this one for years...

Here’s a thought - Trump will be wither a clod and a massive disappointment or the greatest president in our lifetime. Hard to say which way that will go. On balance, however, he will stop the Marxist/leftist train dead on the tracks no matter what else he does.

I was singing it while working, and the concrete guy said the words to that song are such a downer-I explained that I thought so, too but I had the earworm-he put on a Pink Floyd CD, and we started singing along with “The Wall”-traded depressing for ominous...
Ominous is the prime number for this time we are in. Has it ever been so in other climes when the world was ready to break from its moorings?
The complaint was amusing in that it questioned the very foundation of the WFTD, to expand vocabulary. Either a child or a demented curmudgeon.
Either way they appear to have-
“Too much time on my hands, too much time on my hands
Too much time on my hands”...
Reminds me of when I was a teen in the mid-late 60’s-I’m ready for the revolution-have been since I was 14-but it didn’t come then, and I’ve been waiting ever since-maybe it comes at last-I’m still here, still ready...
