Isn’t this what we used to call a cover up? A "cover up" is when information is hidden for the purpose of helping Republicans.
Of course, one might expect the Republicans in Congress to raise an outcry over this, but everyone knows that'll never happen.

Sadly this is nothing new as Islam’s role in the first Ft Hood shooting was likewise edited out of the official reports.
