I’ve been wondering about that. It certainly got pushed aside. I thought I read somewhere that it had been determined that she was killed because she was Christian - was that confirmed? It’s important to know if so, but no one’s even talking about it anymore.
Yes, the back story seems to be that a crazy fellow was irritated enough at her messages that, yes, he went to assassinate her. He was unable to get into the presentation where he wanted to wreak a massacre because security was tight, but he did shoot her afterward in the parking lot and then committed suicide when accosted by Grimmie’s brother. This would be one of the few outright Christian martyrdoms in the USA of this age, if so.
The long term story, though, is that even when the devil wins, he loses. The world may not remember Grimmie but churches will. She knew about the fellow and refused to be intimidated. Courage benefits from an example to build upon.
