That is pretty much what we were-smiling and saying “how ARE you-haven’t seen you in so long” to people we had never seen before while listening to conversations never meant to go outside that snooty inner circle-the gossip was delicious-showed the corruption of the dem party, even then...
My friend and I were both married, and when my husband got home, we went to dinner for my birthday-over drinks, he asked me how my day was, and when I told him my friend and I had crashed a fancy event in the city, and all we did, he howled with laughter-he was jealous he had not been able to join us...

It was a great deal of fun, too-because of all the ladeda well-known dems there, we watched the SA news for 2 days to see if our customer response form left on the rumpled bed would be mentioned, but nothing was said-obviously, the snobs had no better sense of humor than they do now...
