I live in California. You can imagine. But I love this State as far as beauty, the State I grew up in, and it was my State that gave us Ronald Reagan. My Uncle was rich, via the lumber industry, he had a wonderful house in Sacramento, CA, and a wonderful recreation townhouse right on the shores of Lake Tahoe. Once when I was young, Ronald Reagan actually came to his house and I met our future President. My family supported Reagan in his run to be Governor, and later I supported Reagan in all of his campaigns and primaries until he finally got the nomination and then later the Presidency.

Today, while I will not leave California but will fight to the bitter end, I am tending to agree with you about your ideas. I think it would do well for North America to have a new confederation of Free States - if only to compete with the rest of the former Union, I feel the new Free States will prosper while the others with collapse into turd world status - yet from the new Free States will come the lessons learned that will eventually cause the remaining states still in the former Union to REFORM and after the misery and shithole of their existence they will come around and beg to join the Free States. Many will leave states like California to try and migrate to the Free States - and I can understand the citizens of the Free States being suspicious of so many dupes of fascism and turd world ****.

But I will still remain here, in California. To be a rebel and fight the turd world **** such as the Somali scum.

*** “How many dead Texans would you be willing to tolerate? My number happens to be zero” ***

Tolerate or not, you would probably be off mark a little, I can think of at least One Texan that would go the distance.

I support secession 100% so that my southern brothers and sisters may once again breathe in the sweet breeze that is freedom.

It will ONLY work PEACEFULLY if there is a three way split.

Atlantica, Pacifica, and the Republic of Texas.

Something like:

The freedom your talking about was bought by the blood of generations who stood up to tyrants. Going soft doesn’t keep or gain freedom it just makes the shackles of slavery tighter.

In order for a state to secede it will have to continue to encourage its citizens to pay their Federal Income Taxes while at the same time returning any and all monies they receive from the Feds.

They will then be able to start claiming true sovereignty.

So long as states keep taking money from the Feds, even if it originated from the pockets of their own citizens, they will be beholden to the Feds.

>> Left on its current trajectory, the dumbed down generations will be happy to hand over their freedoms in just a decade or so.

It’s already happened. They not only have already traded most of their freedoms for security, but have DEMANDED it! i.e. gun control, freedom to “bake cakes” for whoever we wish, etc.

Yes, I think I phrased it wrong. I meant the younger generations will more than outnumber the few older folks left that care about freedoms. Probably in just one generation, there won’t be enough of us left to care.

If the CW doesn’t start now, it never will.

What makes anyone think they are actually going to allow an outsider to get in and kick ass? Let’s see if they do.

These monsters do not value other people’s lives. They murder, steal, invade, bomb, strip other countries resources, etc., to enrich themselves.

I hope to God I am wrong.

It will take Divine Intervention to see DJT become President.

Dunno about actual secession, but after the last election when Hussein “won”, I’ve felt strongly that all Patriots living in solid blue states owe it to themselves, their families and the Nation, to move to red states or swing states. That’s really all it would take to make a big dent.

Let the blue states go to hell faster under the weight of their leftist BS, without real Americans propping them up.

Agreed

I do think this discussion should wait, though, to see how the election turns out. I can think of no other person better qualified to take the severe corrective action required than him.

I shared the same thought, Bruiser.

But thanks to Nixon’s Revenue Sharing, we’d still have to bail out those states anyway. The Feds take it from you no matter which state you live in, and redistribute it as they see fit.

Let’s see what happens in November. If they steal it, God help us all.

The legal basis for secession is murky. If you view the Constitution as a compact or legal agreement among the members to the compact, then if any member of the union violates the terms of the agreement, then the compact is broken for all the members and, hence, they can secede. In this regard the southern states had the right to secede since the northern states were trying their damnedest to abrogate the “peculiar institution” of slavery and so violated several clauses of the Constitution. Opposed to this position is the idea stated in the preamble to the Constitution that the document is on behalf of “we the people,” which means the Constitution is a national document applying to all people and all states and not a compact. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that the preamble to the Constitution does not have the force of law. And over all this is the fact that secession is not prohibited by the Constitution, which implies that secession is permitted. The only sure way to deciding the matter would probably be a Constitutional Convention.

If states are “not allowed” to secede, then we are not a FREE Republic nor a FREE people. We would be prisoners of a tyrannical government and its “rulers”.

A tyrannical government is not what our founding fathers had in mind. They fought to be FREE from Tyranny.

We don’t need another Constitutional Convention. We just need to FREE our people from the current tyrants that rule over us, and replace them with patriots who “govern”, not “rule”.

Agree. Put your all into getting Trump into the presidency, help build that wall, and deport, deport, deport. If we don’t succeed at that I’ll do all I can to support your secession movement.

Yes, I have hope for once. Trump just might be able to save us. He’s a fighter and he will have to fight every step of the way. First, just to be elected and then to get his ideas implemented. But at least we finally have someone that loves America.

So we’ll talk in November then, RWL!

When there is no way to compromise without losing, when there is no common ground, when the differences become irreconcilable....what does that leave?

Not sure where you’re from or how you were raised, but we here in Texas (you know, the MOST conservative state in the union) value our freedoms. It is states, particularly swing states that are more moderate that have helped elect candidates that are squishy republicans and or out right liberal socialist that’s destroying our country.

My King, Jesus, even says in scripture, be either hot or cold, but because you are lukewarm, I will vomit you from my mouth.

In other words...one way or the other, have strong conviction in your beliefs. Moderates (lukewarm) have no core principals and do not hold fast to their beliefs. They are easily swayed and tossed around because of their lack of conviction.

Just that way it is. When the chips are down, folks will be fleeing to Texas for safety.

Fine sentiment. Tell me how you propose to do that and remain within the framework of the law? Or are you advocating armed rebellion?

All for conservatism, and all for winning. And very much a fan of the south. I also believe that you should be prepared to pay the price for the fights you start.

Secession is an incredibly stupid strategy in my view. And unnecessary. And amoral.

The predictable result of a Texas secession will be dead people and incinerated cities. So before the assembled keyboard revolutionaries embark on such a crusade, I would like to know what they view as an acceptable butcher’s bill? What cities are they willing to sacrifice? How many thousands of dead Americans are they willing to bury?

Fortunately the chance of secession in my view is very low, but not zero. Thankfully keyboard revolutionaries rarely do anything but bitch and moan. And most other Americans are sane and would prefer peace to war.
