Your worry is that a law taking away right from people on a no-fly list could be perverted to deny guns to decent American citizens instead of potential terrorists. That is a concern. Any law can be perverted to be used against us. The question then becomes, should we not have any laws that are good in principle but can be perverted, or should we not take the risk? For another example, 2nd amendment supporters have said the problem is mental illness. But if we deny rights to the deranged, what if they claim that conservatism is a mental illness?

The thing to do is have laws that make sense, and if leftists pervert them, the problem is leftists, not the law. I might not support this no fly list law, not without protections built in for good Americans, but I don't think it's a big deal to be willing to discuss it. Most laws will, inevitably, be perverted. For this reason they should be as few as possible. For some reason folks seem to have forgotten “The government that governs best, governs least.”
