Yep. Hard to reconcile:
1. I can breast feed my baby in public and how dare you object!
2. How DARE you watch me breast feed my baby!
As far as I’m concerned, if she’s in Target and needs to feed the baby, she can go out to her car, sit down with it, and feed it all she wants.
If her kids wanted lunch, would it be appropriate for her to sit down in the middle of an aisle, whip out some peanut butter and bread and milk and have a meal?
Not hard to reconcile at all. Here’s the social code: she exercises reasonable discretion and does not call attention to herself. You exercise reasonable discretion and do not call attention to her.
My little sons both understood this by the time they could comprehend a simple version of the English language.
