So, having a 8 shot remington 870 in my trunk with about 150 rounds of buck and slugs is not such a bad idea?

I have a bin in my car holding my bag which contains several biners, 2 pieces of 12ft 9mm static line for prusiks; and 150 ft of 10mm Edelweiss static line. From work to home, I have two sections where some rappelling greatly shortens my travel home.

ak. I would rather have a good mountain-climbing carabiner when I am trusting my life to it.

So true, and not as expensive as people would think. Check out Omega brand, and I'd recommend a locking gate.

“A cheapo made-in-China hook, not too nice, might break. I would rather have a good mountain-climbing carabiner”

Oh, it’s one of those folding grapelling hook things. IT’s like a United Steel thing.

It’s strong, but it’s not a $100 mil-spec thing that is something to brag about. It’s tool steel though.

I don’t disagree with you, but i lament the CA 10 round/magazine limit. I’d rather carry 15 or more. The 5.7 is a great choice.

An 870 would be a good choice too. My house gun is a 12ga Mossberg 500. It holds 5 in the mag and one in the chamber with a six round side saddle. In summer I have bear problems at times living in the national forest so in summer the first 3 rounds are slugs followed by 00 buck. In winter I reverse the order. Had a 200 lb black bear wander up to the front door last Monday around noon. My barking german shepherd made it run away.

Rock Island Armory has a solid rep, far as I know.

How does it feel in your hand?

Thanks for the info, that is my next step. Their pricing is so low I wasn’t sure whether to even attempt.

Nice! Would love to have one of those, one of the Sub2Ks to match my better half’s Glock as well. Some folks are snobs about them, but I love KT’s innovative designs.

When I bought it, I thought the PLR16 a better choice than the AR buffer pistols, but now that the Sig arm brace is ATF-approved, I’m - well, no telling what kinda damage I’d do if I had disposable income, LOL.

Don’t just take my word for it. I’m somebody you don’t know on the Internetz.

Anyhow... my own firearms dealer, bless his heart, refuses to carry pistols by Taurus or any guns by Kel-Tec, Jennings or Hi-Point. He has the integrity to offer only what he himself trusts. He does carry RIA products.

I have a diaper sling and 150’ of 11mm static line w a locking biner and a straight 8 descender along with 4 x 6ft web loops w rings for quick tie off as abandoned anchors and bringing my line with me. No real time to tie a sheep shank and cut it so descender rings are faster. All this rides in a rope bag under my back seat...... with the truck gun.

Stay Safe !!

Someone needs to read “Day of Wrath” by William Forstchen.

This exact scenario is explored.
