I went back and did a historical review. It’s an interesting thing.
If you look at France and Germany in the mid-1800s...while it was not the average...there were young ladies as of the age of 13 who were married. This changed as you got into the 1920s, and the age started to get shifted to 16, and eventually 18.
I even looked at the age of marriage within the US....within the mid-1800s....it wasn’t unusual find young ladies married by the age of 12.
People may be disturbed by it but a hundred years ago....this young bride thing was accepted without any negativity.
exactly, of course we are not talking 40 something dudes marrying children. But for people esp women was no big deal back then, esp in rural areas of the US.
