That has been my experience. With the outrageous annual deductible that must be met, you end up getting nothing. It becomes all out of pocket, plus premiums are about double. This is called DC lawyer/politician run healthcare.
The whole point of it is to make private health insurance unaffordable and worthless, so that people will scream for single-payer socialized medicine.
