On “permaculture,” try to avoid spending much time on the more weird sites and videos on that topic. There are a lot of distractions out there, mostly in the form of claims about permaculture “design” and mostly from places like California. They want to make money from on-site courses, DVDs and books without offering much free information. Focus on the sites and videos that actually show or tell about how to do something specific in gardening and farming.
Many books have been great, but information for gardening, farming and open source equipment production should be available to everyone. We’re going to need every willing human being involved and working.
Production of all kinds will be necessary in the near future. Unless someone discovers a miracle for energy, we’re nearing the end of the paradigm of long commutes, faraway production and long distance distribution.
