A friend of mine in CA had a permit and training to keep wolves.
She had a small pack.
Her kids grew up with them and the female wolf carried her kids around and ‘denned’ them along with her own pups.
Never had so much as a tiny incident.
The wolves were not “tame” but learned to tolerate and accept my friend and her children.

It started more as a symbiotic relationship in Egypt. The ancestors of domestic cats, the African wild cat discovered that Egyptian granaries were a good source of hunting for rodents. The Egyptians in turn discovered that the cats kept their granaries free of vermin that ate their grain and caused disease. That’s why cats still consider themselves our equals.

Dogs survived for thousands of years on table scraps. Now many people think they need dog food made up of inedible scraps from slaughter houses and vegetables.

I think dogs and men became friends the first time a human grilled meat over a fire...and canines were in the neighborhood.
The smell of roasting meat can motivate a wild dog to get awfully friendly.

All those parts of cows and pigs that we do not eat: snouts, anii, that sort of thing, are ground up and put into dog food.
It’s gross.
