No because Christmas lights aren’t meant to get around a rule. They are using the wire to avoid a restriction. You may as well ignore the restriction if you are going to create ways to get past it.
We are apparently talking about two different things. One is free to analyze the role of Eruv to one’s heart’s content. Knock yourself out doing so. My point is that an eruv causes far, far less notice (most people can’t even see it) and no more “harm” to the community at large than a town’s electricity pole strewn Christmas lights.
