It may be worth debating whether it was good policy to shoot the gorilla, but the outpouring of sympathy and maudlin emotion on the gorilla’s death shows what a bubble we live in. If these people want to see a cruel death of a gorilla, watch a film of gorillas fighting in the wild. The winning gorilla brutally attacks and kills the weaker gorilla. A shooting is much more merciful.

How’s that? Whomever shot this animal was an extremely well-prepared hero.

Wait’... you mean in the wild, gorillas are wild animals and don’t sing kembya after a disagreement is resolved...

But hey! Actually more to the point, "I'm sick of these dolphins."

Gorillas in the wild are doing nothing less than what God intended them to do. Is God at fault for one of his particular creations and the emotions HE gave it?

Essentially a bunch of no nothings chimed in on something they didn’t understand. All they heard was a gorilla was shot. I don’t think we really know the details of what happened to judge the mother or the gorilla for that matter. But what do they think would have happened if they sent a park worker down there to try to obtain the child from the gorilla? It doesn’t stop with gorillas, and forgive me as I am not a dog person, but the care and devotion people give to dogs is beyond the pale in my opinion. People I know will spend thousands to keep them alive, buy them doggy massages, ect...
