The article says something about 1/3. I don’t think Warren ever claimed 1/3 but there it is.
A while back I actually found her ancestry. Forget where actually. You can google it, I guess. Found a great-grandfather, I think, who was on an Indian reservation in the Oklahoma territory.
Apparently, back in the day, you had to register with the Tribe to be recognized and receive whatever benefits you were entitled to. Warren’s ancestors did not and the Tribe does not recognize her. And you have to, or are supposed to, be recognized by a Tribe before you can claim ancestry.
Really.
We have quite a few friends in OK. Some of them have Indian ancestry but you would never know it by looking at them and some of those get a government check.
One of them has a lot of Indian blood and he looks Indian, but he doesn’t get any money because he said his family was too slow to register.
