Donald Trump repeatedly mocked Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as Pocahontas at a press conference in North Dakota on Thursday, even as a Native American woman present at the event interrupted to call his comments offensive.
Thats very offensive. Sorry, the woman said.
Is that offensive? You tell me, Trump asked.
The woman replied that she was offended, and Trump quickly repeated the phrase.
Oh, oh really oh, Im sorry about that, Trump said before turning to a reporter who had asked about Warren, immediately using the term again. Pocahontas. Is that what you said?
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has previously used the term to refer to Warren as an allusion to a controversy over her past claims of Native American ancestry. Warren listed herself as a minority when she worked as a faculty member at a pair of Ivy League law schools in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Though she reportedly is 1/32 Cherokee, that would not qualify her to be a member of the tribe. The issue made headlines during Warrens 2012 election campaign and she defended herself by claiming her family stories held that they had Native American roots. His record has been bad in terms of, you know, speaking about other indigenous people across the border.
Mexicans.
They are indigenous to their country. And we didnt have borders back in the day on the continent, you know, we were all indigenous people that were roaming freely in what is now Canada, the US, and Mexico, Robertson said.
Robertson, who described herself as a member of the Cree Nation, also alluded to Trumps German ancestry.

> And, I still think fauxcahontas is better and I wish Trump would use that instead.
“faux” is great when written. But when spoken the listener needs to be familiar with it or they’ll hear “Focahontas” which doesn’t mean anything.

I am good friends with a full blooded Navajo Lady. She takes a dim view on anyone who is less than “1/4 injun” (her words not mine) who try to act like a “full blooded indin” (her words not mine).

Do you suppose that, after the last 7 years, someone should tell her that no one gives a fat, flying f##k if she is "offended"?
The whole trigger word concept is a childish joke, that only people who are smarter than a fence post get. The Right Half of the Bell Curve.

we were all indigenous people that were roaming freely in what is now Canada, the US, and Mexico,Says a Cree, who historically, their tribe was well north and east of the Great Lakes, but progressively got pushed westward into the territory of other tribes, who pushed those tribes west, which pushed more tribes west...
The idea that someone would make a multi-year journey to travel from Mexico to Canada is ludicrous for a primitive culture. Yes, lady, there were borders, some of which were fiercely defended, and all of them were maintained by the tribes.

So Trump called Warren the name Pocahontas, but isn't Pocahontas a respected name? Wouldn't that be like calling a woman Betsy Ross or Florence Nightingale or Susan B Anthony? Do American Indians and liberals in general not respect Pocohontas?

So she isn’t offended that an authentic American Indian was denied a position because Liz Warren lied about her ancestry?

I did a check of the Cree Nation. The Cree Indians are a vast tribe of Native Americans who reside in various parts of North America. These locations include the Rocky Mountain and areas along the Atlantic Coast. In Canada, the Cree Indians heavily populate Quebec and Saskatchewan. Similar to other Indian tribes, there are several bands of Cree Indians. These bands consist of the James Bay Cree, Woodland Cree, Plain Cree Indians, etc. Within Canada, there are over 135 different bands of Cree Indians. Between Canada and the United States, there are approximately 200,000 Cree Indians. Of course, this number is only equivalent to the amount of registered Cree Indians. Hence, the number may be slightly larger. So it is probable that before The United States was created, the majority of the Cree Peoples came from Canada, and were not natural born citizens. In fact, from all the history I have read of the Cree People they are primarily in Canada, fought in the wars with Great Britain, not the US. There are tribes in the Great Lakes just below Canada and to the East, but very small. Then to say we are immigrants, as a whole is Ignorant. Our forefathers were immigrants, we are natural born. The Cree Nation however does not claim US citizenship, rather membership to the Cree Nation and their lands. Donald Trump, as she alludes is of German descent, however the inconvenient truth is that he is a Natural Born Citizen, ie a child of US Born Parents. Robertson, who described herself as a member of the Cree Nation, also alluded to Trumps German ancestry. He has to remember what land hes on. He came from another country. In fact, hes an immigrant, as far as Im concerned. You know, everyone that isnt Native American, Native Canadian or indigenous
to North America all came from somewhere, Robertson explained. Im not being racist when I say that. Im just stating a fact. What she has to remember, is that when in the US, she is not a citizen at all, by her own Nations Charter, is not subject to its taxes, or its local police, they have Tribal Police. They are subject to State Police however. We are from somewhere, HERE, born and raised, now our ancestors were from other places, but they became citizens, learned our language, follow our laws, vote in our elections, where they do not. And I am stating a more accurate and inconvenient fact to you...your incorrect.

I don’t support Affirmative Action but it exists so what does Mizz Roberts think about Warren stealing a seat at Harvard Law School from a real “Native American?”

Mexico is a nation, not a tribe or a particular race and only about 1 in 5 residence of Mexico identify as indigenous.
The La Raza racist ideology is that Mexicans are “indigenous” people of the Soutwest and California, like Indians, and are entitled to special racial and legal status because of that.
