Maybe it’s still too early for me but, how can Cruz help Trump navigate Congress when Congress hates him (Cruz)?
It’s not about a popularity contest for Cruz; it’s really about the Congress’s responsibility to THE PEOPLE to abide by the Constitution. Cruz is always chastening the Congress for not keeping their word to THE PEOPLE.
And, consider this; what will happen if Mitch McConnell (who is Trump’s golf buddy) gives Cruz a bunch of grief about legislation Trump wants passed ..??
What do you think would happen ..?? I think Mitch would be told to work with Cruz. This would be a bitter pill for Mitch, but I really think it could happen.
And, don’t forget, the VP presides over the Senate in case of a TIE - and that would give Cruz the opportunity to grant the yes or no vote .. for whichever the President wanted.
As for “Congress hates him (Cruz)” .. this is only said by people who hate that Cruz is always pointing out how lazy the Congress is; how the Congress will never hold Obama accountable for his assaults on the Constitution; how the Congress is more interested in letting the DemocRATS have what they want, instead of using common sense and the law to stop serving the DemocRATS’ wants, and start listening to what THE PEOPLE have told the Congress they want the Congress to do.
I firmly believe that Cruz is the only one with a stiff enough spine to handle the Congress for Trump.
