Orbison had the most perfect set of pipes of that era. Dwight Yoakam stated that Orbisons voice sounded like the cry of an angel falling backward through an open window.Something that always impressed me about him was that despite his talent and success he never embraced the "rock star" persona.

Have come to appreciate Freddie Mercury more as I focus on the vocal side. He, Steve Perry, and Roy come to mind as truly gifted in that regard.
