Question to anyone with a chemistry background.

Since the Earth’s original gold sank into the core and melted under huge pressure, does it still retain its character as gold?

Or, does it completely break down and just mix with other melted elements and gases and transform into something new?

In other words, if we drilled into the core, and blobs of molten stuff shot out and dried on the surface of the Earth, would it be gold ore of varying grades, or would it just be a jumble of new minerals?

Think of the earth’s core as a gigantic heavy-element blender. Gold would be there, but it’d be all mixed up with other heavy elements. imo

The inner core is mostly iron, the outer core, iron and nickle with trace heavy metals.

Ummm, the gold stays gold. But...

Don't read further if you are fond of sleeping:

What really sinks to the middle is the heavy metals, most notably uranium.

Yes, the core of our planet is a nuclear reactor.

And more uranium is sinking towards the core over time.

When enough arrives the core goes hypercritical and explodes.

Just like what happened to the planet between Mars and Jupiter.

Sweet dreams...
