I remember driving a yellow and black one just like that. IIRC, the word “underpowered” in no way related to any thing associated with it.

Keep in mind that Chevy sold their cars with a TREMENDOUS range of options, engines, and transmissions (and rear ends!) in that era. For every one of these “cool” 67-71 musclecars you see, there were 20 230 “Turbo-Thrift” sixes with roll-up windows, bench seats, no air, 14 inch rims, and a Powerg(s)lide transmission, with all of TWO gears. Those are either landfill/recycled long ago or have been converted into loaded resto-mods. I can’t believe that a “granny” 307 1971 Nova, if reasonably rust-free, is worth 7-10K these days.
