Someone sent me this pic that was sent to them, claiming this car was/is a 1971 Chevy Nova.
There seems to be something wrong but I can't put my finger on it.
To me, it looks like it has a Nova front Grill with a Chevelle side glass and rear end.
There's something wrong.
Or maybe it's just me.
I think its a Chevy SS.That’s what it looks like to me.
The Grill Medallion even looks like an “s”.
Novas didn’t sell very well in Mexicao. No Va means no go.

Doesn’t the plate say, “71 NOVA”
Doesnt the plate say, 71 NOVA
And my vanity plate reads;
“URATOOL”
JK
Nova Super Sport (SS)
I had a ‘72 Nova SS looked like that except in canary yellow.
Nova SS
I had a 79 looks the same
Nope. The Chevelle had a narrow front cluster and smaller headlights.
Keep in mind that Chevy sold their cars with a TREMENDOUS range of options, engines, and transmissions (and rear ends!) in that era. For every one of these “cool” 67-71 musclecars you see, there were 20 230 “Turbo-Thrift” sixes with roll-up windows, bench seats, no air, 14 inch rims, and a Powerg(s)lide transmission, with all of TWO gears. Those are either landfill/recycled long ago or have been converted into loaded resto-mods. I can’t believe that a “granny” 307 1971 Nova, if reasonably rust-free, is worth 7-10K these days.
“I had a 79 looks the same”
Except it had 200 pounds/8 inches more of battering-ram bumper, which uglied up every post-72/73 car for the next 20 years.
Yep it’s a chevy Nova. I can’t tell you the model year. I’m sure the experts here can...
I just enlarged the license plate. It says 71 Nova.
I drive a 1971 pick-up It is an International Harvester and I get asked constantly if it’s a ford or Chevy.....your’s is a factory Nova SS....if it is not your’s try to obtain it . It is clean. Good $ auto.
My first car was a $500 1979 Nova. 4 doors and 6 cylinders. Worth every bit of $100, because that’s what the scrap value was when the engine blew a week after I bought it.
I will tell you what’s wrong with it. They ruined it. Go to the link and look at the pictures of the interior. I guess some people don’t value stock. They butchered it. Why would anyone do that?
That’s a Nova. My wife had one of those in high school. And it’s all I ever hear about. By the time we got rid of it, it was a death trap.
