WHAT KIND of SALT? Table salt is bad...Celtic Sea salt, Himalayan salt good for you. Table salt has had all the good minerals processed out and iodine added back in. Any study that doesn’t tell the KIND of salt is worthless.

I have used Celtic Salt for 20 years, love the taste, even add a pinch to a water bottle for working in the garden, prevents my muscle ache. Funny that when one is admitted to a hospital they hook patients up to a saline solution.

Table salt has had all the good minerals processed out and iodine added back in.

Table salt also has anti-clotting agents blended in which are thought to cause irritation in your blood vessels which artery clogging plaques then stick to.

I was getting to borderline high blood pressure and like clockwork, doctor put me on a low sodium diet. The only sodium I was ingesting was naturally occurring in the food. In order to get to this level, I ate ZERO processed foods. Started losing weight, blood pressure went down and lipid profile improved dramatically. Over time, I continued to eat zero processed food and added salt back to my diet. Blood pressure didn't change at all. In my experience, it is not the sodium that causes metabolic diseases, it is what the sodium is in. Processed foods high in carbs, refined grains, sodium and preservatives are the culprit. You can also approach this from the low carb diet perspective. If you follow a low carb diet, you are not going to be able to eat processed foods and you will get the same results I achieved by not eating "sodium." It's not the carbs, it's what the carbs are in. You could get to the same conclusion following he paleo diet. In short, processed food are not fit for consumption. They will lead you to metabolic disease. Eat real food. Cooking tip: Your ingredients should not have ingredients.
