Sorry IRS.
You have less respect than fresh dog poop on a 100 degree sidewalk.
Any of your democrat operatives...er...employees taken the fifth lately?
Why are you posting an article from March 2?
IMHO - the IRS has a dog in the fight against Trump because when Trump's President some of these IRS folks are going to jail...
Oh please.
Trump is a billionaire. His taxes are bound to be long and complicated. That alone is enough to raise suspicions with the IRS.
“Why Mr. Trump, you didn’t use the short form this year; that looks very suspicious.”
On the other hand, when Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner failed to pay his taxes due to a Turbo Tax error that didn’t raise and suspicions (after all, it’s normal for rich people to do their own taxes rather than hire an accountant).
South Carolina gettin’ feisty in the newspaper!
Yeh the guy who just looks like a suspicious criminal.
And exactly why is an IRS official making public statements about an audit? Seems to me it is not his place to do anything but his job - which does not include PR.

I hope the IRS just makes our next president angrier and angrier with them before he gets into office.
If anyone looked at the article, you’d see that:
1) The IRS Commish, for all that he’s a corrupt SOB, never made the statements in the headline; and
2) The Greenville Gazette is a Leftist rag that liberally (pun intended) editorializes in its “news” stories.
1) Many returns are examined each year (literally millions) for data discrepancies. For example, your bank reported $11 of interest, and you either left it off or reported $10.
2) A small number of returns are VERY closely examined - COMPLETELY at random - so that the IRS can develop data to determine when/where/whether people are cheating based on sheer statistics...IOW, what is ordinary and what is out-of-the-ordinary and worthy of examination. These examination REALLY suck, as you need to provide data to justify EVERY SINGLE NUMBER on your return. Its like getting selected for jury duty, but 100 times worse, with no excuses or postponements. It is more like going to the proctologist every day for a month.
3) That the IRS has a special program - with HIGHLY secret parameters - which determines which returns are closely examined. This is revised annually, based on the results of the random proctological exams described in #2. It is known that the higher your income, the greater your odds of being examined/audited. The more unusual deductions (or the more out-sized the deductions, relative to one’s income), the higher the odds. I would imagine that people in Trump’s financial league get examined at least every 2 or 3 years, regardless of how squeaky clean their returns are - but that it is likely that they never know it, as their accountants/lawyers take care of it.
1) He is in the real estate business, in which it is no great challenge to arrange one’s affairs so as to reduce income to little or nothing. Depreciation plus mortgage interest plus real estate taxes plus insurance can largely wipe out net rental income, but the depreciation is a non-cash expense - so one can have LARGE positive cash flow while paying little or no taxes.
2) He doesn’t own much personally - The Trump Organization is likely a Subchapter C corporation, which means that it pays its own taxes. Unless there is salary paid to a shareholder, or dividends, the shareholders show no income. I would assume that Trump pays himself a couple $million/year, and avoids the 2nd layer of tax (i.e. his personal tax return). The man didn’t make $5 billion + by being stupid and paying taxes when it wasn’t necessary.
I am also sure that someone so in the spotlight as he is (by design), has a squeaky clean return. Every single number is backed by documentation, and every single “maybe deductible, maybe not deductible” issue is backed to the hilt with lots of justification in the law or regulations. He’d have to be stupid to NOT tell his accountants that audits are OK, but that penalties for unjustifiable deductions or under-reported income is NOT OK...and, as mentioned before, Trump is anything BUT a stupid person.
Most of this tax stuff about Trump is bandied about by people that don’t know anything more about taxes than they do about designing a faster-than-light drive for a starship. It is ALL about how to get a headline and/or how to drag down a political opponent. IOW, it is a bunch of crap!
It’s highly inappropriate for the IRS to comment on an audit - this is OUTRAGEOUS.
F the IRS. I don’t trust it nor any thing it says.
IRS Chief: Trump is a liar, we audited him because his taxes are highly suspicious
Has he been ARRESTED AND CHARGED for Unlawfully releasing Private Info on a Citizen??
Has he been ARRESTED AND CHARGED for ILLEGALLY ACCESSING a Citizens Tax Return?? The IRS CHief has NO GROUNDS for reviewing ANY RETURN unless a Criminal Referral is made
HE BELONGS IN PRISON BEFORE DINNER
Why would anyone post this “story”? Go to the website, it is an obviously “anti Trump” site disguised as news. Practically every story is anti-Trump, with a few “click baits” thrown in. Probably created this year.
People need to be a bit more discerning about what they post.
Koskinen says Trump is a liar?
LOL!

A few looks around this rag shows it to be the equivalent of the DU or a Mikey Moore screed.
Congress Moves Forward With Impeachment of IRS Commissioner

A resolution to impeach Koskinen was introduced last year by House Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz over the stonewalling and obstruction of ongoing congressional investigations into IRS targeting of conservative groups. Now, the House Judiciary Committee will hold two hearings on the resolution and will determine whether to proceed with impeachment.
The Committee argues Koskinen “failed to comply with a congressional subpoena which resulted in destruction of key evidence, made false statements during his sworn congressional testimony, and did not notify Congress that Lois Lerners emails were missing.” The first hearing will examine a lengthy Oversight Committee report detailing Koskinen’s conduct and a second hearing will bring in outside witnesses to determine whether “further congressional action is warranted.”
“The fact that officials at the IRS wielded their power to target certain Americans for their political views is both outrageous and contrary to our nations values. Our government is supposed to work for all Americans, not for a particular partisan agenda. As a result of the IRS targeting, conservative groups were singled out across the nation, resulting in lengthy paperwork requirements, overly burdensome information requests, and lengthy, unwarranted delays in their applications,” Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte released in a statement. Despite repeated congressional efforts to get to the bottom of this matter, Obama Administration officials, including the IRS Commissioner, have consistently undermined the investigation. Over the coming weeks, the House Judiciary Committee will closely examine Commissioner Koskinens misconduct and the implications of his actions.
