Why would you have heard of it? It is not like everyone who’s been audited goes out and announces it. I also doubt highly most of those folks are engaged remotely in the types of things that Trump probably is meaning his taxes probably raise more flags.
I won’t claim the IRS is free from politics but I would assume he’s hardly the only extremely wealthy businessman who is routinely audited
I saw that little bald headed schmuck Koskinen was at that White House dinner with that awful black comedian hosting. He was laughing with glee at the perved jokes— I despise that contemptible tyrant. How come he wasn’t fired? No cajones GOPee congress — thats why.
Koskinen is a proven liar. He should not be commenting on anyone’s taxes. period. He should be in jail.
I hope all these criminals in this criminal government are wetting and soiling their Depends daily.
I’ll try harder next time, just for you. Shall I run things by you before I post or do you just want to edit after the fact?
Trump getting audited by the IRS is not the least bit surprising. Trump has at least three characteristics each of which increases his chances of being audited: he has high net worth, he has numerous business interests, and he is mainly a building contractor. I’m not sure that there is anything conspiratorial in his selection for audit.
In my experience, the “audits” are all automated anymore. The IRS will cross reference data you enter from a 1099 with data submitted by banks and investment companies. A college 529 seems to be a magnet for netting letters from the IRS. Their audits seem to always flag the gains as taxable even when the investments are in a 529. Suppose it could have been the way it was being reported by the investment firm.
So yes, I could easily see Trump getting audited pretty much year round every year.
Trump should warm up on this slug before going after Romney.
If you want to be treated like an adult, act like one.
If you want to play a victim, go play somewhere else.
Goodbye, troll.
Sorry IRS.
You have less respect than fresh dog poop on a 100 degree sidewalk.
Any of your democrat operatives...er...employees taken the fifth lately?
Haven’t been called a troll in the 15 years I’ve been a member.
Don’t want to be treated like a jerk, don’t act like a jerk.
Good day.
Why are you posting an article from March 2?
I believe this is correct, as well. Their computers are programmed to look for certain things that have been abused in the past. For instance, if your medical deductions exceed a certain threshold, your return will be flagged. I don't know what point an agent actually reviews the flag, if at all.
I would expect Trump's individual return to be really complex, given all his different business ventures. It's not unreasonable for it to trigger an automated screening every year -- the question is how often would the IRS actually initiate an audit? If it's a different thing each year, he could easily be audited every year.
For a few reasons that really boil down to knowing the outright lies that are being written for our opponent. The title is a lie, the text is a lie, and if you watch the video the IRS commissioner lies. I think it is important to see what we are up against.
Since you are boasting about measurement of bodily appendages, I've been called a lot of things in the EIGHTEEN years I have been a member.
It's always by people like you that get butthurt because I call them out on something, and they won't take responsibility for it. Like you, they always find a way to blame me for their behavior.
I'd consider it an honor if you'd fill out this form and submit it:
Have a nice day.
The field agent may not have known the program's main purpose but it was designed for the IRS to gain information about taxpayer compliance so it can fine turn its audit procedures to become more effective. It is also the basis of the compliance information that the IRS has to report to Congress. If you are the unfortunate taxpayer selected for the TCMP, it is a royal pain but its purpose isn't necessarily sinister. This was the explanation provided by a regional IRS director when speaking to a group of Master's of Accounting students and it seems quite plausible.
It is possible to be selected for a routine audit (not the line-by-line one) based simply on random chance. Every taxpayer has the opportunity to be selected for this but the odds are quite small. Nothing on your return triggered the audit, you were just the winner of this unfortunate lottery.
IMHO - the IRS has a dog in the fight against Trump because when Trump's President some of these IRS folks are going to jail...
Oh please.
Trump is a billionaire. His taxes are bound to be long and complicated. That alone is enough to raise suspicions with the IRS.
“Why Mr. Trump, you didn’t use the short form this year; that looks very suspicious.”
On the other hand, when Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner failed to pay his taxes due to a Turbo Tax error that didn’t raise and suspicions (after all, it’s normal for rich people to do their own taxes rather than hire an accountant).
