This has happened for years at concerts, sporting events and even county fairs. Just last fall, I escorted my wife into the men's room at the county fair because the women's room line had about a 30 minute wait. What the hell goes on in there to make it take so long?

Anyway, it's never a hassle. Men are just bemused when a woman is forced to go in there and nobody really cares.

Consequently, I've accidentally walked into a women's room a couple of times. It's not like in the movies where a bunch of women in frilly underwear clutch themselves and scream. They just give me that slightly bemused look and I just get out of there as fast as I can.

The why is simple.

1. Restrooms typically have the same size footprint, but you can place 3-4 urinals in the space used by 2 stalls. So for the same size room, you get more capacity.

2. Urinals: just unzip and go. Easy for the guys. Sit-down toilets, clothing has to be arranged to go, and re-arranged when you’re finished. Which adds time to each “transaction”

And since most of the traffic is to dump fluids. . . .a men’s room is a generally a lot quicker to get through. . .
